If you’re like me, you don’t follow trends for the sake of chasing what’s new…but sometimes, knowing what’s resonating in the world can help you reconnect with your work in surprising ways.

Here are four photography trends I’ve been noticing that feel worth paying attention to. Okay, most of these are nothing new, which means they have staying power.

Each one has something to say about the way we’re seeing and sharing stories right now:

1. Candid Storytelling (obvious, but still hot)

People are craving connection and realness, and that’s showing up in photography through natural, unguarded moments.

For lifestyle sessions, this means letting people be themselves: messy hair, imperfect lighting, real emotion. It’s less about capturing a single “perfect” image and more about creating a visual story that feels like a memory.
